Tata Motors will be launching their small and compact Tata Nano Special Edition is a brand new avatar. Set to make its entry ahead of the festive season in India, the new Nano will be packed with additional features and will be offered in six new colors of Pearl White, Papaya Orange, Meteor Silver, Mojito Green, Champagne Gold and Sunshine Yellow. The Nano Special Edition variants will be available in CX and LX trims while both variants will come with new alloy wheels and a USB compatible Blaupunkt audio system

Nano Special Edition is a petrol powered vehicle and will be fitted with a 624cc twin cylinder liquid cooled engine offering 37 PS power and 51 Nm torque. The engine is mated to a four speed manual gearbox that will enable the vehicle to reach a top speed of 105 kmph. The addition of an electronic speed limiter will cut fuel to reduce speed. A higher level of fuel efficiency is seen in the new Tata Nano Special Edition which is pegged to be over the 25 kmpl mark making this the most fuel efficient petrol car in India.

A CNG version of the Tata Nano is also expected to be launched soon making it even more economical and though the country is eagerly awaiting a diesel variant it does not seem that this will be launched before 2013. This new model of Nano will compete with the newly launched Maruti Alto 800. To read more on the new Alto 800, click here.
