Nano Special Edition is a petrol powered vehicle and will be fitted with a 624cc twin cylinder liquid cooled engine offering 37 PS power and 51 Nm torque. The engine is mated to a four speed manual gearbox that will enable the vehicle to reach a top speed of 105 kmph. The addition of an electronic speed limiter will cut fuel to reduce speed. A higher level of fuel efficiency is seen in the new Tata Nano Special Edition which is pegged to be over the 25 kmpl mark making this the most fuel efficient petrol car in India.
A CNG version of the Tata Nano is also expected to be launched soon making it even more economical and though the country is eagerly awaiting a diesel variant it does not seem that this will be launched before 2013.
