A dramatic new video on road safety has been released by New Zealand Transport Agency. The video shows how many of us easily forget how fast we are travelling. Even when we are not speeding, and only cruising, which usually is at around 100 kmph on empty roads, it is still fatal, as you can see in the above video.
In the video, you can see a driver of the SUV, who is trying to get on the straight road from a T Junction, glancing before getting on the T. He does notice a sedan coming on the road, but he thinks that it’s too far and he will be able to manage to get on the road before the sedan arrives. But, he was wrong.
This is what usually happens in such accidents. We are never too sure of the speed of oncoming cars, such in this case. Even though the mistake was of the SUV driver, the accident could have been averted, is the sedan driver was a little slower, as explained perfectly in this ad, which now has over 2.6 million YouTube hits, in just 4 days.
