Tiago Monteiro and JAS Motorsport Honda put up a brave fight in the World Touring Car Championship, FIA WTCC, at Shanghai International Circuit on 4th November. Tiago Monteiro finished 7th in Race 1, and 11th in Race 2. This was the team’s best finish and puts focus on the Honda Civic Super 2000 TC. For the second time, Honda Racing Team JAS appeared in the WTCC. JAS raced in round 21 and 22 which will be held in Shanghai, China.
Shanghai international Circuit has been designed by Hermann Tilke and is a contemporary modern track for the F1 racing circuit. The circuit has been constructed in the character image of ‘shang’ which is the first letter in Shanghai. The 4,603 m track has a number of straight and technical turns which will test skills and performance of drivers taking part. A large grandstand is also seen at this circuit and it rises over the main straight.
WTCC will be seen at Shanghai for the first time and teams will have to get acclimatized to it quickly. Adaptation of performance and smart usage of high speeds on straights will be highlights of the race. At, Suzuka, WTCC stood did well and earned ranking in the top ten. At shanghai the team is sure of doing a good job as special changes have been made keeping in mind the track and environment.
