Noodles in 2 minutes, Yamaha R25 in 3!

Yamaha R25 is being assembled at Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing plant at Pulogadung, East Jakarta. 2,000 units of YZF R25 is planned to be produced from the plant every month. Ever wondered how long it takes to assemble one?

According to Eko Prabowo, General Manager, Marketing Communications & Community Development, PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM), it takes just 3 minutes to assemble a Yamaha R25 sports bike. Of course manufacturing of components from raw materials is not counted, but ready parts are put together on the continuous assembly line and dressed up with shiny new lamps and fairings, in just about the same time you require to boil a pack of noodles.

We recently got a quick peek into YIMM’s Yamaha R25 assembly and testing line, where from tiniest of components involved in creating and controlling explosion inside the twin cylinder engine to final delivery ready bike testing on dynamometer was shown progressively, rather very briefly in the video.

Thus far as per reports and videos surfaced online, Yamaha R25 is the fastest bike in segment, trumping competitors like Honda CBR 250R, yet-to-launch Honda CBR 300R and Kawasaki Ninja 250 FI. Gathered top speed figures put R25 in the lead at 172 kmph, CBR 300R close behind at 169 kmph and Ninja 250 FI at 165 kmph.
