Marking the 40th anniversary of first BMW 3 Series sedan, which was launched in 1975, BMW 340i 40th Anniversary Edition has been announced. This is a limited edition model with sporty exteriors and interiors.
Unveiled in Japan, the model is seen in a Tanzanite Blue exterior with distinctive black grille and 19” M light alloy wheels fitted with 225 / 40R19 tires in the front and 255 / 35R19 tires at the rear.
Interiors boast of Dakota leather seats with piano black trims, a BMW individual leather dashboard and a Harman Kardon audio system. Seats are heated while interior space and onboard safety features will be at a premium. In terms of dynamics, the anniversary edition boasts of adaptive M suspension, M Sport brakes offered as standard. The model excels in agility and control offering a smooth and comfortable ride.
BMW 340i 40th Anniversary Edition will sport a new 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder petrol engine. The engine will be capable of 326 PS power at 5,500-6,500 rpm and 450 Nm toque at 1,380-5,000rpm mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission sending power to rear wheels.
Set to go on sale from 3rd October 2015 and limited to just 20 units, prices on launch are slated to be around ¥ 8,790,000 (INR 47.04 lakhs).
