BMW G310 GS spied undisguised – Clearest spy shots yet

BMW Motorrad is set to bring in the new BMW G310 GS to India sometime late next year while pricing could be around INR 2.5 lakhs.

Set to be on display at the 2016 EICMA Show in November, BMW G310 GS has been spied once again. This time, the bike was spotted on a highway by folks at MCN. These are the clearest spy shots of G 310GS yet, revealing the bike’s design from all angles.

BMW G310 GS is based on the G310R street fighter. The bike will be built in India by TVS Motor Company at the company plant in Hosur, Karnataka, while it has been completely designed and engineered by BMW in Germany. It is the third product by BMW-TVS JV and follows the BMW G310R and TVS Akula 310.

Spyshots of new BMW G 310GS reveal long travel suspensions, wider off road tyres, redesigned headlamp cluster, a sculpted fuel tank and extended tail section. It will sport a set of Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres fitted to 17” alloy wheels. Sadly, off-road enthusiasts will have to content with the same alloys, which are seen on the G 310R as the G 310GS will not get spoked wheels like its elder siblings.

Power to the GS310 GS will be via a new 313cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, watercooled engine offering 34 bhp power at 9,500 rpm and 28 nm torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox. This engine is expected to offer 30 kmpl mileage within city limits and 35 kmpl on the highway. The bike is expected to weigh more than 162 kgs.

BMW G310 GS is also going to be launched in India. Here, it will be positioned in the Premium Adventure motorcycle segment. This entry level dual purpose motorcycle will take on the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, Mahindra Mojo, and the upcoming KTM Duke 390 Adventure.
