Renault Scala facelift imitating updates on 2014 Nissan Sunny facelift will launch this month. Like the latter, new Scala will not receive any mechanical changes. Bumpers, headlamps, fog lamps, ORVM and taillamp would be tweaked and interiors would be spruced up to augment classy appeal. Price of Nissan Sunny facelift starts at Rs. 6.99 lakhs, till Rs. 7.85 lakhs for petrol and diesel variants are priced in the range of Rs. 8.69 lakhs to Rs. 9.57 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Renault Scala facelift will be slightly more expensive than new Sunny.
Volkswagen Vento facelift is also expected to arrive at showrooms this month, bearing cosmetic upshift resembling new Polo facelift. Reason for Vento facelift launch is also to introduce the new 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine that came along with 2014 VW Polo, in place of current 1.6 litre TDI mill. There will be no changes in engine of petrol version of 2014 Vento, in manual or TSI auto variant. Price of Vento facelift will not be much different from that of outgoing model, would fall between Rs. 7.5 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs.
Maruti Ciaz, as the cats confirm, will launch soon; demo vehicle is already spied at a dealership. Ciaz sedan will be powered by by 1.4 litre K14B petrol engine that produces 95 PS max. power and 130 Nm peak torque, and 1.3 litre DDIS diesel unit producing 90 PS and 200 Nm. SX4 replacement Maruti Ciaz will rival C-segment sedans like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Nissan Sunny, Renault Scala, Fiat Linea and Ford Fiesta. Expected price range is Rs. 8 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs.
Renault Duster 4×4 launch is expected to revive the company’s fortune in India as sales has hit record two year low. Four Wheel Drive Duster will be available in RxZ variant only, with Renault K9K turbocharged diesel engine producing 110 PS max. power and 248 Nm peak torque. New Duster 4×4 will rival Mahindra XUV500, Scorpio and Tata Safari Storme in entry level Four Wheel Drive SUV segment. Price will be about Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1.1 lakh more than current price of Renault Duster RxZ.
Mahindra Scorpio facelift has been spied on test several times and now we are quite sure the famed SUV will make it to showrooms by end of this month. Codenamed W105, Scorpio facelift retains its original silhouette and features new front fascia with revised grille, projector headlamps and revamped bumpers; rear gets LED tail lamps. Interiors are believed to receive improved design and enhanced material quality. There will be no changes in engine, 2.2 mHawk engine pushing out 120 PS and 2.5 liter m2DiCR engine churning 75 PS, mated to five speed manual transmission will be seen aboard the 2014 Scorpio facelift. Mahindra will pose new Scorpio as more upmarket product as competition in this segment is getting tougher.
Skoda Yeti facelift is launching in India on September 10. Launched in Europe last year and debuted at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, Yeti facelift will come in two variants, Outdoor and Style, with bolder stance, more kit and features. 2014 Yeti facelift will be propelled by 2.0 liter four cylinder diesel engine in two tunes, 110 PS and 140 PS. New Skoda Yeti is expected to be pricier starting at Rs. 15.2 lakhs.
Mercedes Benz GLA crossover was showcased at Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. Bookings for GLA 220 CDI are already open at advance payment of Rs. 1.0 lakh. Mercedes Benz GLA compact SUV will arrive in CBU route with 2.2 litre diesel engine producing 136 PS @ 3,400 – 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm @ 1,400 – 3,000 rpm. 0 to 100 kmph sprint time will be less than 10 seconds, while top speed will be 205 kmph. 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine is also expected, which belts out 156 PS @ 3,500 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1,250 – 4000 rpm. 0 – 100 kmph acceleration with this engine will take 8.9 seconds; top speed same 205 kmph. Both engines will be paired with 7G-DCT automatic transmission. Price of Mercedes Benz GLA will be in Rs. 25 lakhs to Rs. 35 lakhs range, rivalling BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
Mercedes Benz E 350 CDI will launch on 11th of this month as an add-on in E-Class. Mercedes E 350 CDI will be pushed by 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine mated to 7 speed DCT automatic transmission. Features like Cross-traffic Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and blind spot warning system are expected in new E 350 CDI. Price is expected at around Rs. 58 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Lamborghini Huracan was showcased in Delhi and Mumbai dealership last month and is slated to launch on 22nd September 2014. Powered by re-tuned version of Gallardo’s 5.2 liter V10 engine, Huracan gets 610 PS @ 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm, mated to 7 speed Dual Clutch Transmission. Gallardo replacement is capable of sprinting 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and top speed of 200 kmph in 9.9 seconds. Rivalling Audi R8 V10, Porsche 911 and Ferrari 458 in India, Lamborghini Huracan will come with a price tag of about Rs. 3.5 crores.
