Cédric Leimer wins 2012 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo crown


Cedric Leimer driver of Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 claimed his 2012 Super Trofeo Pro-AM crown at the first race of this weekend as he finished in the lead. Dimitri Enjalbert and Bernard Delhex finished as runners up overtaking Andrea Amici who led the race two win from the back of the grid. Autocarrozzeria Imperiale SRL received the PRO-AM and the amateur team titles consecutively.

The first race was held on Sunday which was Adrian Zaugg surge ahead of his pole position to an early race win at the 3.993km Navarra race track. Bernard Delhez had to drop out due to an early casualty while Cedric Leimer saw a second place win followed by Andrea Amici. Race 2 was also held on Sunday which saw Adrian Zaugg lead Cedric Leimer at the start of the race.

However in lap 5 both cars had to return to the pit lane and this lead to early retirement. As part of the Blancpain support for the series in the coming year, Alain Delamuraz-Vice President and Head of Marketing of the company along with Stephen Winkelmann-President and CEO of Lamborghini presented the awards.
