Chevrolet recalls 2,070 Captiva over faulty parking brake design
The Chevrolet Captiva Sport made its debut just about one year ago but it is back in the news due to faulty parking brake. The company has announced a recall notice even while National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have announced that the brake cable may not be well placed in its connector and this would cause it to separate thereby leading to parking constraints.
All such models built between April 26 and May 17, 2012 are affected and the company will be issuing a recall notice for 2,070 Captiva models while Chevrolet dealers have been informed to inspect and repair all such brakes free of charge.
General Motors will be notifying owners of these vehicles and recall is expected to commence from 18th of this month. The recall will only affect model year 2012 vehicles. Captiva Sport is primarily sold as a fleet vehicle in the US and hence only companies will be affected by this recall.
