Chevrolet Trailblazer India launch confirmed, to rival Toyota Fortuner

Chevrolet India seemed to have no promising products in the pipeline for India for a significant amount of time, but the company has formally stated that they will launch two new exciting cars. Chevrolet Trailblazer India launch will take place in 2015, while Spin MPV launch is scheduled for 2016, to stage a spring back.

Looks like Chevrolet Captiva will be phased out this year, as its sales do not recommend selling alongside.
Chevrolet Trailblazer is a highly functional Sports Utility Vehicle that has the capability to compete with segment leader Toyota Fortuner and others in the space like Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Hyundai Santa Fe.

Trailblazer is a seven-seater SUV that is based on ladder-on-frame chassis. It is said to be more spacious than all of its rivals-to-be in India. The macho machine is powered by 180 bhp producing 2.8 litre or 150 bhp generating 2.5 litre engines, in international markets. For India, powertrain is undisclosed.

Chief rival Toyota Fortuner will be upgraded with next-generation model next year and latest iteration of Ford Endeavour is coming to India by the end of this year. So expect Chevrolet Trailblazer to be brought into Indian market via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, otherwise it could end-up being trumped by the stiff competition.
