Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India 11% sales growth in June 2013


Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India (HMSI) have reported an 11% increase in sales during the month of June 2013. The company sold a total of 2,52,114 units during the month as against a total of 2,26,929 units sold in the same month in the previous year. Taking only motorcycle sales during the month, HMSI reported a 17% increase in sales with 1,20,639 units sold as compared to 1,03,195 units sold in June 2012.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooters IndiaLikewise, in the scooter segment, HMSI reported a 6% increase in sales during June 2013 with 1,31,475 units sold up from 1,23,734 units sold in June 2012. The company’s third plant at Narsapura Area in Kolar district of Karnataka, got off to a flying start in mid June and is working at top speed to cater to the long list of waiting customers.

This plant built at an investment of INR 1,350 crores manufactures the Dream Yuga and Activa. HMSI also launched two new models CBR 250R and Dream Yuga with HET which are expected to consolidate their growth in the months ahead as well. The company now enjoys 20% market share in teh two wheeler market here.
