Mahindra 'Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric' scheme makes e2o tempting (2)

Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles, a part of Mahindra Group have announced an innovative new scheme to boost sales of their electric car, e2o. Under this new scheme, called ‘Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric’, you will have to pay Rs 4.99 lakh as down-payment towards e2o, and a monthly payment of Rs 2,599 for five years.

During this five year period, Mahindra Reva will take care of all the costs, including battery performance and it’s maintenance. This means, instead of spending your money on petrol/diesel/LPG/CNG, Mahindra is giving their customers and incredible offer to beat inflation by locking in the running cost for 5 years. Besides this, the company will also offer 24×7 roadside assistance and guarantee a replacement vehicle in the event of the battery having to be taken in for repairs.

Mahindra 'Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric' scheme makes e2o tempting (2)Under this scheme, the customer will be allowed to travel a total of 50,000 kms in 5 years, which is about 800 kms every month or about 26 kms daily. A customer under this scheme cannot travel more than 800 kms in a month under this scheme in order to keep the scheme active.

Considering the rising costs of petrol and diesel, this new scheme from Mahindra Reva seems really good. Price of petrol in Mumbai currently is at Rs 82/l and that of diesel is at about Rs 64/liter. For Rs 2600 today, you can buy about 32 liters of petrol and about 41 liters of diesel. To drive 800 kilometers, a petrol car will need to deliver a mileage of 25 and diesel car a mileage of 20, in order to match with that of e2o.

Launched in March 2013, Mahindra Reva e2o sales have been less than expected (just 500 units sold till date), mostly due to it’s high price. But, with this new scheme, Mahindra Reva are sure that their e2o will be a success. For more information, scroll through the press release below.
