Maruti Ritz facelift to launch in December 2015. No, it’s actually selling well

Maruti Ritz is one of the awkwardly positioned small cars in India like Honda Brio, Ford Figo and Chevrolet Beat, which hold less significance because of their, well, segment positioning, despite their appreciable value-for-money quotient.

Out of the aforementioned lot, Maruti Ritz is the most recognised and purchased car.
Maruti Suzuki Ritz sells around 2,500 units per month off late, after sliding up and down from around 4,000 units; which is pretty bad according to Maruti Suzuki’s standards but not as per the market. Honda Brio manages to sell around 1,250 units, while Ford Figo appears to be discontinued now but used to sell a couple of hundred units better than Brio, and Chevrolet Beat manages almost same average as the former.

This is probably why Maruti plans to end the year 2015 with Ritz facelift launch scheduled for December, as the car does decent numbers already and it may not be as important to focus at leaving other all-new and important facelift models behind.

Expect new Maruti Ritz facelift to sport new front grille, changes around fog lamps, minor touches on the sides and the rear, new alloy wheels, updated features carrying over what’s offered in new Maruti Swift and latest tune of engines guaranteeing higher fuel economy. Significant change in price may not be expected.
