Maruti S-Cross spied, gets new generation alloy wheels
Maruti Suzuki is preparing for the launch of S-Cross compact crossover, set to take place in a few weeks. The model was showcased for the first time in the country at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
Maruti S-Cross is a 4.3 metre (length) crossover set to take out cars like Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, higher variants of Ford EcoSport, lower variants of Mahindra XUV500, upcoming Hyundai ix25 and the like.
S-Cross will have contemporary features like chrome exterior embellishments, projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), turn indicators integrated to side mirrors and large alloy wheels (14-inch).
Engine options could include 1.4 litre K14B petrol engine (powering Maruti Ertiga MPV and Ciaz sedan) and 1.6 litre Fiat MJD (Multi-Jet Diesel) mill (same as what is offered in international variants of S-Cross). In all possibility, Maruti S-Cross could receive a 1.5 litre version of the 1.6 litre diesel engine.
Transmission duties will be performed by 5-speed gearbox in petrol variants and 6-speed unit if 1.6 litre diesel is used. Top end version of Maruti S-Cross could feature Suzuki AllGrip All Wheel Drive (AWD).
