In May 2014, Maruti Suzuki India domestic sales stood at 90,560 units. For the month, exports stood at 10,300. Overall sales increase for last month was 19%. No doubt MSIL’s sales boost is attributed to it’s small car, Celerio, launched in February 2014.

EZ alongwith being a major innovation for small cars in India proves to be an affordable option with no fuel economy loss and low maintenance cost. Maruti Suzuki plants in Gurgaon and Manesar currently manufacture 1.5 million cars a year. Maruti Suzuki leads with a 40% market share in India having stayed atop for over 3 decades.

In meeting needs of millions of customers, and in reaching out to new buyers each day, Maruti operates through 1,020 car dealerships in India. Furthermore, 3,048 authorised repair shops cater to 1,446 cities and towns here. MSIL’s service network can handle a million cars each month while bigger dealerships can service upto 250 cars each day.

All this has resulted in Maruti Suzuki being at the top of their game. Today, they produce one car every 12 seconds, and this is only going to increase in the near future.

Celerio for UK will be produced at Suzuki Motor Thailand plant with sales beginning in early 2015. Alongside, Suzuki iV-4 compact SUV 4WD will also be launched in 2015. The Indian equivalent for this will be the compact XA Alpha SUV, which will allow Maruti to compete in a new segment.
