The 2013 season of Indian National Rally Championships commence on March 22nd 2013 with the South India Rally to be held in Chennai. 2013 will see re-introduction of tarmac stages in two events at Nashik and Cochin Rally while a new venue, Bhuj, Gujarat will also be added to this year’s calendar.
There will be two major classes with Group N 1601 in the 2000 cc category and the other for cars upto 1600ccs. Maruti Suzuki SX4 and Polo 1.6 from Volkswagen will be making their presence felt at the INRC circuit. Both these are petrol powered vehicles which will compete in the 1600cc Group N Class which once saw participation of Maruti Suzuki Esteems and Gypsys.
The Federation is keen about foreign participation from neighboring countries such as Sri Lanka and South East Asian countries including Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia who will participate in the INRC with Group N4 AWD vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki SX4 is powered by a 1.6 liter petrol M Series engine producing 104 bhp of power and 145 Nm torque while Volkswagen Polo 1.6 is powered by a 1.6 liter petrol engine producing 105 bhp power and 153 Nm torque and are lined up for participation in the Group N 1600 cc class.
