Renault India is set to announce an increase in prices across its range of passenger vehicles on sale in India. Renault India sells the Kwid, Pulse, Scala, Lodgy and Duster in India all falling within a price bracket of INR 2.64 and 13.77 lakhs, while following these announcements, the prices of all models in the company line up will be increased by 2%.
Renault India Operations Country CEO and MD Sumit Sawhney has confirmed this announcement of price hike due to higher input costs while the company is yet to announce the period from which these new prices will be enforced. Those who are awaiting deliveries of their cars, especially Kwid, will have to pay the increased price.
The company is also calculating the price hike in terms of monetary value and taking the current ex showroom prices in Delhi, the hike in prices should be anywhere from INR 2,600 to INR 27,000 depending on model in the company’s portfolio.
Mahindra has also announced price hike across its passenger and small commercial vehicle range by 1% from October 2016 while Tata Motors has stated that a price hike will be brought into effect during the current festive season.
