Around 646 units of Renault Pulse hatchback and Scala Sedan (doppelgangers of Nissan Micra and Sunny) in India are potentially affected by Takata Airbags.
This information came to light when Renault notified the Indian government of the same. Hence the company is planning to recall all 646 cars, comprising of diesel version of Renault Scala and both versions of Pulse hatchback manufactured between September 2011 and July 2012. Of the 646 cars, 620 are Pulse and just 26 are Scala.
Both models are produced locally by the French automaker’s global alliance partner Nissan Motors. Both Renault cars are essentially rebadged models of Nissan.
In the past six months, sales of Renault Pulse has been fluctuating between 54 and 432 units, while the C-segment sedan has been wavering between 38 and 226 units.
