Rolls-Royce Wraith Launch Film wins gold award

The Rolls-Royce Wraith Launch Film has been awarded a Gold Award at the 26th International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) Awards. Filmed at a secret location near Barcelona, the shoot included a ‘Timeslice’ (frozen time) sequence created using 100 cameras, the longest purpose-built SLR camera rig in Europe, an award-winning film director, 36 computers, 1.5km of cables and one prototype Rolls?Royce Wraith. A ‘behind the scenes’ film was also launched after the Company was inundated with requests from fans across social media networks worldwide.

And the World Stood Still, Rolls-Royce Wraith Marc Mielau, Global Head of Marketing, Rolls?Royce Motor Cars, said, “We are delighted to have been presented with this prestigious award. Wraith is imbued with power, style and drama and we wanted to create a film that is equally breathtaking.” He continued, “The award is testament to a successful end-result and the passion, innovation and creativity of the entire team involved.”

The Wraith launch film preceded the latest successful Rolls-Royce film production, ‘No Ordinary Power’, created for the launch of Ghost Series II earlier this year. To create a dynamic and powerful result, innovative hyperlapse and time-stack technologies were used, combined with the longest motion control rig ever used in automotive advertising. The Ghost Series II ‘making of the campaign’ film will be launched on 13 May 2014.
