The third generation 2013 Skoda Octavia sedan was first shown in Dec 2012. You can find images and details of the same here. This same version will be arriving in India by Diwali festive season 2013, reports Business Standard. Once here, the Octavia might just replace the Laura sedan available today.
Speaking about the new variant of Octavia, Combi which is on display at the Geneva Motor Show 2013, it sits on the same VW MQB platform. Boot space is enhanced to 610 liters while if rear seats are folded this space is augmented to 1740 liters. The vehicle itself measures 90 mm longer and 45 mm wider than the earlier model. It comes with a host of safety features which include Front Assistant with City Emergency Braking Function, Driver Activity Assistant and Proactive Crew Protect Assistant and Lane Assist.
Engine options include a 1.8 liter TSI with 179 hp, a 1.6 liter TDI GreenLine with 110 hp. These engines are both fuel efficient and low on auto emissions emitting 89 g/km CO2. In European markets where this model is heading it will possess additional safety features which will include fatigue detection and upto nine airbags.
