Volvo Truck’s Epic Split Live Test is now the most viral non-Super Bowl auto spot having surpassed visits acquired by Volkswagen’s The Force that debuted during 2011 Super Bowl. Jean-Claude Van Damme’s video was made live less than a month ago.
While Super Bowl is a great platform for automotive adverts, Epic Split Live Test secured 40 million views in less than 10 days of being uploaded on Youtube. Van Damme’s epic split was captured in a single take, and arange of spoofs associated with the video have helped it’s cause too.
Through the year Volvo Trucks has introduced a number of other stunts including The Technician (Live Test 5), The Hook (Live Test 4), The Chase (Live Test 3), The Hamster Stunt (Live Test 2), and The Ballerina Stunt (Live Test 1). At present The Force: Volkswagen Commercial has 58,711,995 views, and Volvo Trucks – The Epic Split feat. Van Damme (Live Test 6) has 58,908,275 views.
Jean-Claude Van Damme, 53, is seen taking auto stunts to a new level as he does an epic split between two fast moving Volvo trucks. The video spot which runs for a total of 1.17 minutes is not only dangerous but insane to say the least. “Muscles from Brussels” as Van Damme is better known, performs a split while Enya’s moody ‘Only Time,’ plays in the background.
The stunt is shot in a closed off landing field in early hours of the morning and completed in one single take. Directed by Andreas Nilsson, the advertisement was set up to showcase the precision and directional stability as displayed in Volvo Dynamic Steering which is the world’s first technology evident in the Volvo FM heavy truck range produced by Swedish Volvo Truck Corporation.
The best way to describe Volvo FM range of trucks is as a flexible and efficient multipurpose truck that is not only easy to manoeuvre but also displaying all round comforts and precision. Among the new features seen on board are improved driver’s cab and Volvo Dynamic Steering that elevates Volvo FM’s first-class driving properties.
