Yamaha R15 naked variant, M-Slaz spied undisguised on the road
One of the most awaited Yamaha bikes in a long time, 150 cc Yamaha R15 naked variant is finally revealed in undisguised spy shots. Thought to be christened as MT-15 previously (as is the naming of other Yamaha naked bikes), spy shots confirm that name of this new Yamaha is M-Slaz and not MT-15.
Featuring a sleeker design, and shedding extra weight of full fairing, Yamaha M-Slaz is built on the same platform as new R15. To be powered by the same 150 cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine seen on current R15, riding dynamics are expected to be top notch as we already know how well the Delta frame chassis and this engine work together.
Apart from same set-up underneath, there is hardly anything on the outside which relates M-Slaz to its sibling R15. Yamaha M-Slaz features upside-down forks upfront, gets new alloys, new fully digital instrument console, LED headlamp, larger fuel tank (or atleast it looks like a large tank thanks to tank shrouds), sleeker and smaller exhaust unit, meaty tyres, upright seating stance, new handlebars, and a different rear section.
Expected to be launched in India next year, Yamaha M-Slaz could be priced about INR 10,000 cheaper than R15. More details about new M-Slaz will be revealed on 1st December, 2015.
