Each year, auto companies display their latest and best cars, concepts and designs at the Detroit Auto Show. In keeping with tradition, Detroit Auto Show also awards Eye on Design awards to the best designs seen in two categories, one for production vehicle and the other for concept vehicles. This year, the cars that appealed to judges most were Lexus LF-LC and Ford Fusion.
Judges are either participating designers by profession in various auto companies or retired designers who are well versed with the intricacies of auto designing. Judges for 2012 Detroit Auto Show include Mr. Walter de Silva, head of Design at Volkswagen, Mr. Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of SRT and Mr. Ed. Welburn, Vice President of Global Design at General Motors.
2013 Ford Fusion was awarded Eye on Design in the production category with runners up bring 2013 BMW 3 Series and 2013 Cadillac ATS. Lexus LF-LC was the winner of in concept category with runners up being Chevrolet Tru 140S and Lincoln MKZ.
