General Motors is contemplating production of Chevrolet Cruze at their plant in Europe. It is likely that Chevrolet Cruze will roll out from the company set up at Opel plant in Poland though other models of Chevrolet which are currently produced at this plant will be moved to other locations in Europe.
This is the first step taken by the company so as to increase profitability as assist its loss making counterpart. Opel was currently in the news as having suffered a loss of $13 billion since 1999 and hence GM has stepped up operations to enable some cost cutting measures for which they will also be taking some production activities out of South Korea.
Chevrolet Cruze will be produced at Gliwice, Poland. Vehicles bring produced at this plant will be shifted to other plants in Europe itself and it is learnt that Orlando crossover will be moved to Opel plant in Bochum, Germany which currently oversees production of Zafira minivan production of which is likely to come to a standstill altogether.
