Nissan India has yet again updated their Evalia MPV. Now featuring a new front grille and a revised dashboard, new Evalia comes in six variants, in a price range of Rs 8.49 lakhs – 10.67 lakhs, ex-showroom New Delhi.
Honda Mobilio is expected to launch on 24th of June 2014. Though it is labelled primarily as Maruti Ertiga rival, Mobilio will go beyond as well, to assail Toyota Innova. Much like other machines in Honda’s stable, Mobilio’s entry will influence buyers to shift segment, thanks to a lot of factors that will be mentioned down the page. It is likely that rest of MPVs surviving in under Rs. 10 lakh bracket will take a hit.

Datsun on-Do sedan for Russia styled in Japan and engineered specifically for Russia was launched earlier this week. Datsun on-Do production at AvtoVAZ Tolyatti plant adds to the production line-up with Lada Granta also coming out of here. Datsun’s Russian sedan reaches dealerships in the second half of July at a price of 329 000 rubles (loosely equates to Rs 5.75 lakhs).
Nissan India launched Datsun Go earlier this year, aimed at grabbing a pie of Maruti’s Alto and Hyundai’s Eon, together eating about 25-30k units monthly. But, Go sales have been disappointing, averaging about 2-2.5k, with last month’s being lowest at 1,097 units.
Nissan showcased the Leaf electric car at 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. It was believed that the car would be launched in the country thereafter. But with no infrastructure in place, Nissan did not launch the world’s best selling electric car in India. Now, two years later, the topic is once again under consideration, and it seems Leaf will soon be launched in India.
Nissan GTR is soon going to be launched in India with a price tag of around 1.2 crores. Thus far owing to undesirable fuel quality and inadequate service support, Nissan did not consider bringing the successor of legendary Nissan Skyline GT-R. Now the scene appears to have turned around.
Datsun Go entry level hatchback was expected to do big numbers, somehow didn’t put up that big of a show, yet. Now, Nissan along with Renault, will bring a 2+ lakh car to India and place it beneath Go with Datsun badge.
