Showtime at Pragati Maidan where the Delhi Auto Show kicked off saw Maruti Suzuki India Limited unveil their compact SUV XA Alpha. Mr. Shinzo Nakanishi, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the company is getting ready to enter newer segments and to offer customers sophisticated vehicles which are more in demand. Customer's demands are changing and so is their way of life. Sophistication and style is the order of the day and the company will have to keep up with this demand. Maruti Suzuki will be expanding their range of K Series engines and will offer more diesel vehicles.
Concept XA Alpha has been designed by R&D teams of Suzuki Motor Corp and Maruti Suzuki India. A total of five engineers were involved in this development which took a total of 10 months to complete. Increased demand is being seen towards SUVs which occupies a 14% share in the auto markets of India.
As many as 50 new vehicle launches and unveilings both by domestic auto companies and international brands took place. Besides four wheelers – cars and SUVs, two wheelers by Indian auto companies will also be unveiled during the event. Organizers along with the Delhi Police had taken a decision to restrict the number of visitors to per day but that got messy at the onset itself.
