Photos: Tata Nano and Aria Police patrol car displayed at India International Security Expo
At the India International Security Expo, which was recently held at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, both the Tata Nano and Tata Aria were on display, but they were special and different. These are designed and devised by Okhla based Grand IJS Electronics and expected to be used by special police unit in Delhi for the protection and safety citizens, especially women and children.
Aria has also been modified to suit its special purpose with rear seats being removed while two benches take their place. The vehicle is fitted with a stretcher, traffic cone and high visibility jacket besides being painted on its exterior with Delhi Police Department livery.
Speaking to the officials present at the expo from Grand Designs, they said that they are also noted as a leading supplier of police beacons in India. Speaking about production capacity, the official says that both models will be modified at the company workshop in Okhla Industrial Area with a facility to fabricate 200 patrolling Nano’s and Aria’s per month.
