The made-in-India range of 2016 KTM models which comprises compact Dukes and RCs will be equipped with always-on headlamps, a safety feature which is in mandatory in most international markets. The feature helps fellow motorists to take notice of the motorcycle in time irrespective of the natural lighting conditions. Always-on headlamps is likely to be made mandatory in India in the future and KTM has already prepared its lineup for it.
A spyshot from Shifting-Gears reveals that KTM has eliminated the headlamp switch from the handlebar switch gear. The company has not made a formal announcement of the upgrade yet but all the 2016 models are expected to adopt this safety features. The upgraded products would hit the showrooms soon.
In addition to the always-on headlamps, the 2016 KTM RC 390 also benefits from slipper clutch (Duke 390 already received this upgrade). In a bid to satisfy the upcoming European emission standard, the fully faired sportsbike ditched its underbelly exhaust in favor of a conventional silencer.
The company sportsbike segment in India has been witnessing regular inflow of new products. With the regular upgrades, KTM is aiming to retain its position in the market as a front runner.
