Fiat 500: 1 million and beyond


The success story of Fiat 500 can be seen from its astounding sales and escalating demand in major markets around the globe, so much so that the company has just rolled off its 1 millionth Fiat 500 off its production lines. Fiat 500 is produced since 2007 in Poland and since 2011 in Mexico. The model is now sold in over 100 countries across the globe and is noted for its distinct Italian style and a host of customizations which makes it difficult to find two Fiat 500s alike.

Its success is unmatched anywhere in the world as is seen in North America. Here, Fiat 500 has marked its 8th month of continuous growth making it a leader in its segment. From end of 2010 to date 73,000 unit sales have been registered. The special 1 millionth Fiat 500 is given a three layer Funk White coat and fitted with a 69 hp 1.2 engine.

Fiat 500 is recipient of a number of records and awards. It is regarded as a car with most advanced technology in its segment and also for its award winning TwinAir engine. The vehicle has received over 40 international awards thanks to its innumerable innovations and high level of safety features. It is the first car measuring 3.55 meters to win a 5 star EuroNCAP crash safety rating and the first car to be offered with advanced ESP system, besides the first car from Fiat Group to be powered by a two cylinder TwinAir engine.
