Indian and Japanese automakers Pune business expansion

Japan External Trade OrganizationJETRO Mumbai has signed a MoU with Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to support development of a new industrial zone in Pune exclusively for Japanese manufacturers.

Pune, has attracted automakers like honeybees with Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Mahindra Two-Wheelers, Force Motors, Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, Volkswagen and Fiat setting up manufacturing plants here ensuring a need for auto components sourcing. The event saw BEST Corporation, Yamaha Corporation, Panasonic Automotive Systems India, Toyo Ink India be part of the event among others when discussing market development of automobile parts.

Japanese auto companies like Suzuki Motors, Honda Motor Company, Toyota India are noticeable in the country, and a Japanese auto component unit here facilitates international automakers to reduce import dependency.
