ÖkoTrend names Mercedes-Benz ML 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC and B 200 Natural Gas Drive for Winners in Green

German auto makers Mercedes Benz strong commitment to conserving energy and preserving the environment is something to be commended. “ÖkoTrend”, a well known German environmental research institute has declared the Mercedes Benz ML 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC and Mercedes Benz B200 Natural Gas Drive as most eco friendly vehicles in their class. These two vehicles have been hence bestowed the honor of “Winners in Green” by AUTO FEST.

“ÖkoTrend” is an independent research institute in Germany that has years of experience in testing the credentials of environmentally friendly vehicles. These vehicles are tested on the basis of a 12 point program which included fuel consumption, emission levels, manufacturing, logistics, recycling, etc.

Mercedes-Benz ML 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC and B200 Natural Gas Drive were winners of “AUTO TEST WINNER in GREEN! 2013”. The former possesses a four cylinder diesel engine offering both direct injection and turbo charging. It possesses output of 150 kW and torque of 500 Nm and can sprint form 0 to 100 kmph in 9 seconds. Fuel consumption is at 6 liters/100km while auto emissions are at just 158 g/km of CO2. B 200 Natural Gas Drive operates on Monovalent+ technology. Running on natural gas the vehicle has auto emissions 16% less than the normal 115kW while fuel costs are 50% lower than equivalent petrol engined counterpart.
