Honda is working on a new entry-level, Hero Splendor, Bajaj Platina rival

The import/export database on India contains an entry for a Honda 5.5 KW (7.47 PS) 110 cc engine brought into India from Japan stating R&D purpose. But this is not where Honda’s plan for a new entry-level easily-affordable motorcycle came to be known first. During the launch of Honda Unicorn 160, a spokesperson talked about an upcoming low-cost bike for the domestic market, to be developed at the Japanese manufacturer’s Research & Development centre in Manesar.

The new Honda entry-level model may take around 2 years to launch, by which time its rivals Hero Splendor and Bajaj Platina should be in a completely new avatar.
No further details about the upcoming affordable Honda bike is known. Although the log states engine power as 5.5 KW (7.47 PS), it could be tweaked to suit Indian requirements, which would be exorbitant mileage claim, expectedly over 80 kmpl for this model.

For current year, HMSI has numerous (around 14) launches starting with new Activa 3G 110 cc scooter tomorrow, and other models including updated Honda CBR 150R, CBR 250R, CBR 500R and CBR 650R.
