The all new Toyota FT86 Open Top Concept possesses an electrically operated soft top. It is more of a pre-production model, admits Toyota. One look at the the rest of its body and you will realize this thanks to its sleek, sporty and sophistication.
The 2+2 seater also receives a number of external design upgrades compared to the coupe variant. On the roadster here, upgrades are seen on its windshield and bonnet design while new wheels are also added. Interiors are in a two toned leather effect in blue and white with contrasting yellow stitching. Power will be delivered by the same 2.0L boxer engine delivering 197 bhp to the rear wheels via either a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 6 speed automatic transmission. Susspensions too remain unchanged. Dimensions of the new FT86 Open Top Concept stand at 4240 mm in length, 1750 mm in width and 1270 mm in height.
More details will be evident when the convertible is displayed at the Geneva Motor Show while Toyota will also be showing off the European version of RAV4 and the new Auris Touring Sports.
