The new Beetle Yellow Black Racer carries a unique design and will be available globally, but hurry as the production is limited to 3,500 units. UK is expected to get 100, not sure if India will receive any, considering just 1 Beetle was sold in 2012.
Beetle GSR here, is the successor to the Beetle 1303 S, which was revealed around 40 years ago and was a limited edition as well with production limited to 3,500 units. Volkswagen will start accepting orders for the new Beetle GSR from May 2013. Just like the Beetle GSR from 1970, this one too is colored yellow. One of the difference, is that unlike the older gen GSR, which was available in just one color options, the new GSR is available in Platinum Grey and Black color options. The Beetle GSR is fitted with 19″ Tornado black alloys with 235/40 tires. On the inside, 2014 Beetle GSR features leather sports steering wheel, sports seats, all with contrasting yellow stitching.
Performance wise, Beetle GSR delivers 210 PS power ad 280 Nm torque. It accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 228 kmph (142 mph). Transmission is provided by six speed DSG. Mileage is at 13.69 kmpl. Price is not yet revealed.
