Aston Martin Valkyrie makes global debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show

Despite its name rooted in ancient mythology, Aston Martin Valkyrie is the epitome of the latest in technology.

Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing have officially launched Aston Martin Valkyrie at Geneva Motor Show which was earlier knows by the name of Aston Martin Red Bull AM-RB 001.

Unveiled as a high performance supercar, this new Valkyrie gets its name from Norse mythology. Its name means ‘chooser of the slain’. According to legend valkyries are Odin’s handmaidens who chose which warriors live and die and bring some of the fallen to afterlife in Odin’s Valhalla.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie also carries forward the tradition of Aston Martin ‘V’ cars such as Vantage, Virage, Vanquish and Vulcan. Engine specifications on Aston Martin Valkyrie include a 6.5 liter V12 engine offering 4000 lbs of downforce even without a traditional rear wing.

Designed and engineered in partnership with Red Bull F1 means that the car is going to portray the most outstanding of performance with a top speed of 402 kmph. This engine is mated to an F1 style energy recovery system with batteries from Rimac.

It gets Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres measuring 265/35 at front and 325/30 at the rear fitted onto lightweight magnesium alloy wheels measuring 20” in front and 21” at the rear. Aston Martin Valkyrie is limited to just 150 units, but company reports state that all have been spoken for.
