BMW 116d EfficientDynamics was driven by Green-Car-Guide.com team drivers Paul Clarke and Paul Andrews at RAC Future Car Challenge 2012. Between thm, they have won 9 eco driving events and 24 class wins in special stage rallies. Here with the BMW 116d EfficientDynamics, they have achieved 103 mpg (26.46 kmpl) across, the Brighton to London 64 miles route while at the same winning Internal Combustion Engine Class.

Brighton to London route is not straight. It consists of many miles of hilly terrain besides stretches of area across London’s traffic scenario. Despite these difficulties and constraints, the team was able to clock 103 mpg which is a noteworthy fact. This shows that hybrid and electric cars though expected to have a sound future, vehicles with internal combustion engines too have proved their worth where fuel consumption is concerned.

BMW 116d EfficientDynamics is a premium car in its class. It is way ahead of Kia Rio, Vauxhall Astra and Renault Clio. It is a rear wheel drive hatchback which can speed from 0 to 62 mph (100 kmph) in 10.5 seconds to reach a top speed of 121 mph (193.6 kmph). This clean and green vehicle due to its enhance fuel efficiency and low level of auto emission is not entitled to any Vehicle Excise Duties nor is it liable for London Congestion Charges.
