For BMW Motorsport and Castrol EDGE it is a double victory as BMW Motorsport have won drivers and team titles in the final race of the season at Hockenheim. BMW Motorsport has partnered with Castrol EDGE and this victory is a noteworthy event in their history. BMW Motorsport and Castrol together are banking on each other to gain momentum of their products as they continue on a long and dependable relationship that has withstood the test of time.

It was earlier in April this year that BMW returned to DTM with five wins and four pole positions besides a championship double. Working with Castrol, a company that offers high performance lubricants is what has resulted in the company gaining these titles. Jens Marquardt – Director of BMW Motorsport showed gratitude to Castrol for all the hard work they have put in as he now looks forward to BMW Motorsports seeing more successes in the next season.

Donald Smith – Manager of Castrol Sponsorship is also thrilled at this double victory seen at DTM which is looked upon as one of the most valued race series in Europe. BMW Team Schnitzer’s Bruno Spengler secured 149 points in the 2012 DTM season to secure the Drivers‘ Championship.

BMW Motorsport is celebrating after securing an emphatic double, winning both the drivers’ and team titles in the final race of the season at Hockenheim. The victory marks the end to a magnificent return to DTM for BMW Motorsport and technical partner Castrol EDGE.

Castrol has a long and successful heritage in motorsport, with the BMW partnership at its core. This victory represents another major milestone in that history. DTM is an extremely challenging racing environment where drivers, teams and cars are tested to the very limit. Working together in such challenging conditions allows both BMW Motorsport and Castrol to use each others strength in technology and innovation to push their products to the extremes.

In late April, 142,000 people crammed into the stands at Hockenheim to follow BMW’s return to the series. Six months, eleven races and a return to Hockenheim later, BMW has secured five wins, four pole positions and an amazing Championship double. The victory completes a truly remarkable season for the team.
