Chrysler Group’s Uconnect Access System has been named as AOL Autos ‘Technology of the Year’, thus beating five other finalists and over 30 nominees. These awards were announced at 2013 International Consumers Electronics Show. This is a one of a kind show that is designed to give visitors an in-depth analysis of emerging technologies while providing positive or negative impact on ownership experiences and vehicle safety.

Design, engine performance and finish of vehicles plays a major role in its success, but it is technology that determines quality of how well the car is connected and various features that control the same. Chrysler Group’s Uconnect Access is not only innovative but easy to use which is what has got it accolades. Uconnect Access offers a one button emergency assistance, voice controlled text messaging, monitoring of vehicle performance and smartphone apps that permits locked doors to be opened when keys are locked inside.

Uconnect Access also flashes headlights when drivers have lost their vehicles in crowded parking lots while voice activated applications locate points of interest, destinations, restaurants and gas stations. The system upgraded for 2013 Ram 1500 and SRT Viper beat other finalists and nominees of new or substantially upgraded technology fitted to vehicles sold between September 1, 2011 and September 30, 2012.
