Land Rover has unveiled the fastest and most powerful Range Rover Sport yet, and it is called SVR Prototype, not RS, as rumoured earlier. Slated to make its grand debut at 2014 Goodwood Festival Of Speed, the Range Rover Sport SVR is designed and developed by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Division.
In late April, Jaguar Land Rover was announced 2014 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade recipient for sustained overseas sales success with exports to over 170 countries in the past 3 years.
British car maker, Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that the new Discovery Sport will be manufactured at their facility in Halewood, Merseyside, England. Built in 1963 by Ford, this facility started manufacturing Jaguar cars in 2001.
Goodwood Festival of Speed debuts later this month from June 26-29, 2014. It is at this show that Land Rover will draw attention to an accessory package for Range Rover Sport. Called Stealth Pack, the new package consists of exclusive exterior enhancements to be fitted on both HSE Dynamic and Autobiographic Dynamic versions of the SUV.
Tata Motors Group has reported a 5.14% drop in global wholesales during the month of May 2014 as against May 2013 when the company sold 81,783 units. Tata Motors global wholesales which includes Jaguar Land Rover dropped to 77,575 units in May 2014.
Tata Motors owned, Jaguar Land Rover is mulling over a new engine plant in China. This new engine plant is being planned so as to increase their footprint in what is termed as one of the leading auto markets and fastest growing economies in the world. Set-up will commence once the plant in Wolverhampton starts production in 2015.
Land Rover extends its support to Born Free Foundation’s work in India with delivery of a Land Rover Freelander to the Satpuda Foundation, a partner organisation in Central India. The Land Rover Freelander wears Born Free white paw prints and will play an important role in conservation work in India’s central tiger reserves.
