Mercedes-Benz India 2013 Q2 sales growth 32.33%, look how bright the star shines
Mercedes Benz India sales figures for the April to June 2013 quarter stand at 1756 units. The company has clocked 32.33% Year on Year growth with 1,327 units sold in the April-June 2012 period. This is the best quarter for Mercedes Benz from among the past eight quarters, and the company owes this success to increased demand for the new A Class, M Class and GL Class. Sales of E-Class and C-Class continue to play a major role in increased sales.
Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “2013 is the Year of Offensive for MB in India. Our fully refreshed product line-up, with new segment introductions has received an overwhelming response from the customers. This has helped us achieve record results in Q2 2013. The B-Class CDI set for launch on 11-July 2013 is the next awaited launch from us and we have other fascinating product plans to follow the year through. Despite an overall challenging market conditions; the strength of brand Mercedes-Benz and the excitement of new product launches amongst customers, have enabled us to achieve successful results.”
In Q1 of 2013, Mercedes-Benz India sales stood at 2009 units. So far this year, MB India has sold 3765 luxury cars as compared to 3235 cars for Jan-June 2012. This equates to 16.38% sales growth for 2013 Jan – June. The figures above are retail sales figures. Audi India sales had reached 4,096 units in May 2013 itself. Depending on their sales volume for June 2013, Audi is most likely to extend their lead over Mercedes Benz India by 1000 units once their June sales report is announced.
