New Hero Karizma R and ZMR launch nears
2014 Karizma R and ZMR, two upcoming models from the Hero MotoCorp stables, were on display at the 2014 Auto Expo in February. Presumably ready for launch later this month, first models of 2014 Karizma R and ZMR have already been dispatched to company dealerships.
The facelift version of Karizma R retains its 223cc engine which has been tweaked for enhanced performance due to which it now offers output of 19.2 bhp and torque of 19.35 Nm. Erik Buell Racing has offered its technical expertise and added further refinement to the engine with the bike capable of a top speed of 135 kmph.
The new Karizma R sports split handlebars, semi digital gauges and vertical stacked headlamps besides side stand and service indicators. Kick start, electric start and rear disc brakes along with a 15 liter fuel tank are also some of its salient features. Though not officially declared, the upcoming Karizma R could command a price well under the INR 1 lakh price range so as to appeal to a larger segment of buyers in India.
ZMR facelift is also ready for launch later this month when it will also be seen with a 223cc engine though with higher performance figures of 20 bhp peak power and 19.7 Nm peak torque at 6500 rpm. This bike too receives styling from Erik Buell Racing with a larger front fascia and vertical stacked headlamps. Hero claims that the new ZMR has acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds. Once successfully launched, the new ZMR will compete with the likes of Pulsar 220, KTM Duke 200 and the CBR 250R.
