Volvo-Eicher CV strategy involves expansion in Asia and Africa
Volvo, the Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturers have extensive plans to enhance operations in South East Asia and Africa. To assist them in this expansion venture, the company has a joint agreement with Eicher called Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles.
Keen to see its market share increase two fold over the coming three years, the company has introduced a new range of Eicher Pro Series trucks and buses. This Pro Range will compete aggressively with both Tata Motors Prima range and Ashok Leyland New Gen truck range in India. These Eicher branded trucks will propel the brand to be the 5th major brand for the group and will cater to the demands of customers across South East Asia, Middle East and Africa.
The new range of Eicher trucks and buses vary from 5 tonnes to 49 tonnes and display outstanding fuel efficiency, better payload and quicker turnaround time for fleet operators. The products will be launched in the country from February 2014 onwards.
