2017 Yamaha SCR950 Scrambler marks its entry into the company’s Sports Heritage lineup. The V-twin-based SCR950 Scrambler motorcycle comes in with scrambler styling with a low-profile bench seat and retro racing side number plates.
It is also seen with fork boots and distinctive color accents while at the rear there are LED tail lamps, high-mounted turn signals and distinctive styling cues.
2017 Yamaha SCR950 Scrambler is also seen with a new subframe which allows for flat seating and catering to the seating styles of a wide variety of riders. This favorable seating also allows for better navigation on off-road terrain while wide handlebars sit tall. Fuel tank is finished in a retro color scheme. The new Yamaha sits on 19” front and 17” rear spoked aluminum wheels while it also receives a 2 into 1 exhaust pipe.
Power train specifications on the new 2017 Yamaha SCR950 Scrambler include a 942cc air-cooled SOHC 60° V-twin engine. This engine is also shared with the Yamaha Bolt.
The engine sends power to rear wheels via a 5 speed gearbox. Suspension includes 298mm disc brake upfront and 298mm at the rear while kerb weight stands at 247 kgs.
While launch in India is not on the cards anytime soon, pricing of the 2017 Yamaha SCR950 Scrambler starts from $8,699 in the US where deliveries will start from next month.
