First BMW 320d and BMW 328i rolled out from BMW plant in Malaysia
BMW’s 320d and BMW 328i sedan were the first to roll out from the BMW Group Malaysia plant at Kulim, Kedah. The BMW 3 Series were introduced in March 2012 and the premium sports sedan has seen immediate success in just three months making it the number one best seller and a major contributor to BMW sales in the first quarter of this year.
BMW Group Malaysia, though they are locally assembling these two units within the country, they are identical in all respects to their imported counterparts. Local assembly is beneficial as it optimizes supply, decreases costs and lessens waiting period for their customers.
The 328i is offered in a choice of Sports Lime and Luxury Line and 320d is offered in Sports Lime and Modern Line. 328i is seen with innovative BMW Connected Drive Apps offering drivers a host of convenience, safety and entertainment benefits, while customers are even able to customize their own vehicles with choice of exterior, interior and equipment details.
BMW 3 Series has also been awarded a 5 Star rating by the Euro New Car Assessment Program and a mention at the Red Dot Awards 2012. It is the best selling sports sedan in the world with over 12 million units sold since its introduction in 1975.
BMW Group Malaysia corporate communications manager Sashi Ambi said: “Since we introduced the all-new sixth generation BMW 3 Series in March this year, the premium sports sedan has rapidly grown to become the number one bestseller and key contributor to our growth in becoming Malaysia’s number one best-selling premium carmaker for the first quarter of 2012.”
“Now customers will also have the added option of customising their BMW 3 Series with the highly stylish BMW Lines, a feature of specific exterior and interior designs as well as equipment elements which gives the car an unmistakable character — making the car, your BMW 3 Series,” added Mr Sashi.
