New Honda Jazz to launch in India on July 8 with petrol and diesel variants
Honda cars India will launch the new Honda Jazz on July 8, 2015. This upcoming hatchback will be produced from the company’s Tapukara Plant in Rajasthan and will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine variants.
The Honda Jazz which failed to stir up much excitement in its earlier launch is slated to address this issue this time round with higher local content and with the inclusion of a diesel variant. The new Honda Jazz will be powered by a 1.2 liter i-VTEC 4 cylinder petrol engine seen also on the Brio and Amaze.
This petrol engine is capable of 90 PS power and 110 Nm torque. It will also receive a 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel engine doing duty on the Amaze, City and Mobilio offering 100 PS power and 200 Nm torque. The petrol engine will be mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and CVT, while the diesel engine will only receive a 5 speed manual transmission.
Based on the same platform as seen on the Honda City, new Jazz will also share its dashboard design with the City. Other features include a touchscreen Media NAV system, steering mounted controls, folding wing mirrors and alloy wheels. Safety equipment on board the new Honda Jazz will be dual front airbags, reverse camera ABS and EBD.
