First Storme model which was launched in 2012 is not seeing many takers, even though Tata upgraded the Safari with lighter chassis, new engine, and other functional tweaks. Apparently, what people (also) wanted was drastic change in styling, better interiors and cool features, which the company did not address with great importance then.
Now Tata Motors is working bringing out a revamped version but it will also sport minimal changes on exterior. Front fascia will be slightly restyled, with Land Rover-inspired honeycomb grille, refreshed fog lamp trims and new bumper with conspicuous chin section.
This time, Tata will completely refurbish the interiors. Dashboard can be expected to be totally redesigned, which will accommodate the large touchscreen multimedia system seen in Aria MPV. This ICE unit will also serve as display for reverse camera. New upholstery, accents and colour scheme can also be expected.
Interiors of upcoming Tata Safari Storme facelift will also see changes in seating arrangement. The opposite facing twin jump seat at the back will be replaced by a front facing third row in all variants. Top end models will get captain seats option for second row.
Under the hood, new Safari Storme will be seen with uprated 150 PS Varicor engine that is already pushing Aria. Better refinement can also be expected.
