2013 Infiniti FX Vettel Edition is inspired and developed together with Sebastian Vettel, the reigning world champion at Formula One, who is now the only man this Formula One season to win five races, including today’s Indian Grand Prix. Nissan has confirmed production plans and pricing and have stated that only 150 units of this limited edition will be available. 2013 Infiniti FX Vettel Edition will be priced at $154,907 and is stated to be the most powerful and expensive Infiniti ever built.
Available in only Moonlight White, Infiniti FX Vettel concept was earlier seen at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Seen with Vettel badges, shows the racers involvement in its design and production. Each of these 150 models possesses a 420 PS 5.0 liter V 8 engine which has a topspeed of 250 kmph and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds. The vehicle is light and aerodynamic and has the same carbon fiber seen in Infiniti partnered Red Bull Racing Formula One cars.
Infiniti is working closely with Car Research and Development, Brabus Group in bringing these 150 models into play while the first production car was seen driven by Sebastian Vettel at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK earlier this year. Infiniti has since then made 6 more pilot models and has continued with testing and development before bringing out the final product in February 2013. So intricate are the designs and specifications of this particular model, that each FX Vettel Edition requires 320 man hours and a team of 25 craftsmen. Entirely handmade, the car is finished with 12 coats before final assembly.
